FCP (SA) OVERVIEW:
The FCP (SA) examination comprises Part I and Part II. This qualification forms part of a process to accredit medical practitioners as specialists in Internal Medicine.
FCP (SA) PART I EXAM:
- The Part I of the FCP (SA) examination will consist of one MCQ paper of 3 hours duration.
- There will be 150 multiple choice questions in the “best of 4 options” format.
- There will be NO negative marking.
- The paper will be divided into 50% pathophysiology and 50% physiology.
- The pass mark is determined using Cohen’s method (e.g., 65% of the 95th percentile). Candidates are encouraged to answer ALL items.
- Candidates must bring an ordinary calculator to the examination.
REQUIREMENTS:
A candidate may be admitted to Part I/Primary of the examination having a qualification to practice medicine.
